"In 5 weeks from Santiago de Chile through the Patagonia to Punta Arenas (february - march 2011)"
A wonderful time with a lot of beautiful impressions and experiences. Thanks to the good service of Ruth from Holiday Rent, we received the camper (Andino Camper 4x2) without any problem and with a detailed explanation of how everything works. We always felt to be in good hands. Thanks to a cellphone provided from Holiday Rent, we could always contact her, which we –fortunately- had to do only once, when we were still in Santiago (the battery was defect and it was changed immediately).
Our route went from Santiago passing by Pucón to Argentina (Argentinien (San Martin de los Andres, San Carlos de Bariloche, Villa La Angostura), than back to Chile, passing next to a lot of vulcanoes and amazing landscapes to Puerto Montt. Here we took a ferry to the isle of Chiloé. Chiloé is known for its numerous old wooden churches. In Castro we took another ferry to Chaitén and went from there until Puerto Ibañes. Here we took a ferry to Chile Chico and took the route 40 in Argentina (a lot of road stones and dust!). We passed El Chalten, El Calafate (Fitz Roy, glacier Perito Moreno) and back to Chile to the nationalpark Torres del Paine, Puerto Natales and finally Punta Arenas.
Thank you very much for the good preparation of the camper and the papers that are necessary to cross the border to Argentina!
We can only recommend Holiday Rent.
