From Santiago de Chile to the north of Argentina with a Patagonia 4x4 camper. (July/august 2012)
It is allready our third trip with such a camper in Chile and this year in Argentina.
We rented the car for 31 days, so we had plenty of time to visit many places in the north of
First, crossing the border from Chile to Argentina was a new experience. The road was clear and easy to drive. Our First stop in Argentina was Uspallata. There we had to buy food, bread and fruit because it is not allowed to carry that when you cross the border. From there we drove to San Juan, Ischigualasta, Talampaya, Cuesta de Miranda, Londres, Cafayate, Cachi, Salta, San Antonio de los Cobres, Susques, Tilcara, Humauaca, Tafi del Valle, La Merced, Capilla del Monte, Quebrada del Condorito, Nono, San Juan, Barreal, Uspallata and back to Santiago.
A beautifull trip, sometimes very cold ( minus 8 degrees Celcius inside the camper!), sometimes at 4600 meters, sometimes a very rough road, we had it all.
We took this pictures in Cerro el Alcazar, about 20 km north of Barreal.
A very nice and quiet place to stay overnight.
When will be our next time in chile and Argentina???
