Holiday Rent will dispose of a certain number of its vehicles for special seasonal offers.
These seasonal offers basically consist in the rentals to / from certain season dependent depots without the pick-up or drop-off costs being charged. These depots are located in Puerto Varas and Punta Arenas in the high season and in Calama in the shoulder and low season.
For rentals from these depots back to Santiago, between the two depots of the same season (Puerto Varas - Punta Arenas), or back to the same depot the vehicle was rented at in the first place, no pick-up or drop-off costs will be charged either, however, there will be a surcharge to the daily rate (see price list).
It is also possible renting the vehicle in one of these depots and returning the vehicle at the end of the rental period in a town that does not dispose of such seasonal depot. In this case a drop-off fee will be charged, however this fee will be based on the calculated cost of the transfer between the depot the vehicle was rented at and the town it will be returned to. Hence, this drop-off fee will generally be lower as if Santiago had been taken as reference for the calculation.

Enjoy the northern parts of Chile and
Argentina. Pretty much an unknown territory. If you like eroded landscapes,
deserts , salt plains, canyons and cacti but also wine and the coast
than this trip is certainly worth trying.
We start this journey in Santiago capitol
of Chile. We drive north through Chile on the famous Panamericana highway.
We will drive along the Pacific ocean and through the Atacama desert.
Bigger contrasts are hard to find. The Elqui valley is very green with
its vast vineyards. Here are possibilities to study the universe.
After a visit to the biggest open coppermine
in the world we will drive along extensive salt plains near San Pedro
de Atacama. We will cross the Andes at a hight of about 4.400 m. The
surroundings of Salta has fabulous landscapes but also famous wineries.
The uniquely eroded landscape of Talampaya is dramatic. In the north
of Argentina there are cacti but also remains of Inca culture. And if
that’s still not enough we’ll cross again the Andes along the Aconcagua
(6.995m) over a pass of more than 3.200 m heading back to Santiago.
